The  next edition of the NAID’s flagship industry journal, NAIDnews, will feature an excerpt from the association’s forthcoming Information Disposition textbook.

“The Information Disposition textbook might be the most ambitious project ever undertaken by the association,” said CSDS Board of Regents chairman Brock Miller, CSDS (Shred Northwest/Gresham, Oregon). “By publishing the definitive and only academic quality book on this often overlooked aspect of data security, the association will clearly establish its credibility and reputation among decision makers.”

But Miller also takes a long term view.

“Imagine a world where future data security experts are exposed to Information Disposition principles at the collegiate level,” says Miller. “As it stands, graduates currently have little exposure to this important aspect of data security. This textbook can change that."

A brief excerpt of the first chapter of the textbook, covering Data Protection Regulations, will appear in spring edition of NAIDnews.  The project is slated for completion by the end of the year and will also serve as the new training manual for future Certified Secure Destruction Specialist candidates.
