A lot has been written about the task force of veteran members created to welcome new members to the association. In place for a little over 6 months, the initiative is being heralded as a big success and much overdue.

“It is remarkable how excited and surprised people are when they get a call from a colleague in another state who simply wants to welcome them and offer a helping hand,” says NAID Director Don Gerard Jr., CSDS, (Land Shark Shredding/Bowling Green, KY) who lobbied for the program at last year's face-to-face board meeting.

As a testament to the new member welcome program’s success, NAID President Don Adriaansen, (TITAN Mobile Shredding/Doylestown, Penn.) has incorporated the project into the formal responsibilities of the Membership Committee, headed by NAID President-elect, Eric Haas (A.R.M.S. Inc./De Pere, Wis.)  The Membership Committee will also be charged with contacting members to increase their overall awareness of NAID’s many programs.

The Membership Committee will continue to be responsible for vetting and approval of new member applications.
