June 30, 2016

Although the Medical Waste Management Association (MWMA) will not officially launch until next week, the NAID Board of Directors, MWMA Board of Directors and NAID Conference Committee have all agreed that the new association will hold its first annual conference in conjunction with NAID 2017. The event will be held March 22-24, 2017 at the Tropicana Resort in Las Vegas.

Prior to making the decision, NAID Director of Programs and Events Jamie Hughes had secured the additional meeting space required. As it is currently envisioned, registrants will have full access to both events and general sessions, the keynote and networking events will be combined.

EXPO Space under pressure: Exhibitors will be under pressure to reserve space as early as possible, since the exposition will be limited to 115 booth spaces (the same as last year). Planners expect that the combined NAID/MWMA Exposition will attract an additional 20 to 30 vendors.  Interested exhibitors are encouraged to act quickly by contacting Tracy Tarlton at ttarlton@naidonline.org.

Planners anticipate between 100 and 150 additional attendees as a result of the combined event.

An announcement on the launch of MWMA will be distributed on July 14. Registration for the MWMA Conference will be open October 3.

NAIDDirect readers in receiving direct announcements from MWMA about their launch should please email Sara Berntgen at sberntgen@medwasteonline.org.
