NAID to Host Free Red Flag Webinar on May 18th

Bookmark and Share

After a number of postponements, for the third time businesses across the US are again looking at the approach of yet another effective date for the FTC FACTA amendment known as The Red Flag Rule.  With the most recent postponement on October 30, 2009 coming 2 days before the last effective date, many wonder if it will actually happen.

Nevertheless, the Red Flag Rule is a significant part of the growing regulatory climate that favors increased attention on proper information destruction.

To play it safe, and because of the amount of time that has passed since the most recent postponement (7 months), NAID is offering a free refresher orientation on Tuesday, May 18th, at 3:00 PM EST to help secure destruction companies understand what Red Flag is, and how it will affect them and their clients.

NAID has already produced a “Red Flag” policy and contract language, available as part of its Standard Industry Contracts sample documents.  To receive these materials, NAID Members must return a completed Standard Industry Request Form to NAID Headquarters. These materials are available only to members; however, the webinar is open to all readers.
