Experimental Conference Session Results in Formation of New Subcommittee

The 2010 NAID Conference broke many traditions, experimenting with strategies to increase interaction, as well as accommodate the drawing power of Las Vegas’ world renowned attractions.  One example was offering the keynote presentation in the afternoon—something that was very unconventional but proved so popular with attendees that it may become a NAID Conference staple.

Another experiment was staging a session where the audience steered the discussion, sharing from their own experience to explore an emerging industry opportunity—in this case, how to use the evolving risks of healthcare providers to break into the untapped Doctors and Dentists office market.  Some conference attendees reported that the concept was among the most engaging and promising of any educational session.

While those attending did receive a summary of the meeting’s basic conclusions, all agreed that the discussion was worthy of more attention.  As a result of the interest in pursuing this initiative further the Public Relations Committee has formed a subcommittee with the sole purpose of developing a marketing plan to promote the use of secure destruction services by Doctors and produce a plan and tools for members.  The work of the subcommittee is meant to take only a few months, at which time it will be made available to all NAID Members.
